Barbara Grant, Managing Partner

Barbara Grant is one of two founding partners of Cárdenas Grant Communications. For the past eight years, Barbara has shared the responsibility of business development, client relations, media buying and designing and executing communications, public relations, government relations, and community outreach strategy for corporations, government and non-profit clients.   Barbara, brings more than 30 years of experience and success in the use of communications tools to advance business solutions with a specialty in servicing the diverse needs of clients who need to reach African American, Hispanic and Asian communities. Her client roster includes:  Ameristar Casinos, United Negro College Fund, Edison Learning, City of Philadelphia, National Conference of African Americans and Aids, Pennsylvania Coalition of Charter Schools, Free Library of Philadelphia, Nielsen Media Research, Sunoco Welcome America and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Insurance Department’s Children’s Health Insurance Program in the African American market. Prior to starting Cárdenas Grant, Barbara was Director of Communications for the Mayor of Philadelphia and prior to city service, Barbara was Director of Communications for the School District of Philadelphia.   Barbara built her expertise in advertising, communications and media relations during her 15 years as an award winning television reporter, producer and news manager with a strong reputation for coverage of minority affairs and non-traditional audiences.
